Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be part of the Immunisation Improvement Team (IIT), working across North Central London and North East London to deliver a coordinated programme of improvement activity aimed at increasing childhood immunisation uptake and reducing variation.
The role requires a balance of clinical expertise, analytical thinking and strong partnership working. The post holder will work both independently and collaboratively, managing their own workload while contributing to wider team and system priorities.
A key focus of the role will be working directly with GP Practices and Primary Care Networks to review immunisation delivery, identify areas of low uptake, and implement targeted, evidence-based interventions. Through effective collaboration, the post holder will support a coordinated system-wide approach to improving immunisation uptake.
Education and engagement are central to the role. The post holder will deliver training and support to healthcare professionals, helping to build confidence in immunisation delivery and address vaccine hesitancy. They will also contribute to developing culturally appropriate approaches to engaging families and communities.
The post holder will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the impact of interventions, adapting approaches where needed, and reporting on progress and outcomes. They will contribute to the sharing of best practice across the system to support continuous improvement.
The role may involve working across multiple sites and requires flexibility, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
