Phlebotomist — North East London NHS Foundation Trust
We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team at Thurrock Community Hospital, working 30 hours per week on a permanent basis. This Band 3 role offers a salary between £25,760 and £27,476 (pro-rated for part-time hours) and includes working across the Brentwood, Basildon, and Thurrock communities. The position involves a mix of clinic-based work and domiciliary home visits, providing a vital service to our patients in the region.

The Role
This role is essential to ensuring patients receive timely and professional phlebotomy services. You will work as part of a supportive team to deliver high standards of care and make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.
- Undertake phlebotomy procedures in a clinic-based setting, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients at all times.
- Provide domiciliary phlebotomy services to patients in their homes, maintaining professional standards and delivering excellent care.
- Work collaboratively with clinical teams to ensure seamless service delivery and accurate record-keeping.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated previous experience in phlebotomy.
- Relevant competencies or certification in phlebotomy.
- Proven experience working in a clinic-based setting.
- Experience in providing domiciliary phlebotomy services.
- A full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being
properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters
will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will
undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which
will include mandatory training, systems training and the
allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will
have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior
managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on
engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The
induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period.
High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of
5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,346 and a
maximum payment of £2,270 per annum, pro rata for part time)

under the UKVI points-based system. When calculating the basic
salary for sponsorship, HCAS (High-Cost Area Supplement) is not
included to ensure fairness and consistency within our Trust.
